CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is hiring for more than one hundred positions including detention officers, deputies and school crossing officers.
CCSO has 55 openings for positions as a Detention Officer. The job requires a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must by 21 years old and a U.S. citizen. Detention officers work on a variety of teams throughout the Detention Center and court system. Salary can range from $29,000 to almost $43,000. The deadline for applications is April 1, 2016.
The Sheriff's Office also has 32 openings for Deputy Sheriff. The job also requires a high school diploma or GED, but a four year college degree is preferred. All applicants must by 21 years old and a U.S. citizen. A Deputy Sheriff is responsible for all general law enforcement functions including patrol, traffic enforcement, making arrests, serving warrants and issuing citations. Salary can range from almost $35,000 to $40,000. The deadline for applications is March 11, 2016.
