Investigators identify suspect wanted for Orangeburg Co. murder

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators have identified a man sought in an Orangeburg County murder on Friday. 

The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office is looking for 30-year-old Anthony Tyrone McKennie of Seawright Street in Orangeburg. 

McKinnie is being sought on a charge of murder in the shooting death of a 27-year-old St. Ann Street man who was found dead at his home Friday afternoon.

Authorities describe McKinnie as a black male standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds.

Deputies responded to the home on St. Ann Street a few minutes before 2 p.m. regarding a shooting. 

According to the sheriff's office, deputies arrived in less than a minute to secure the scene and develop a suspect.

"Deputies found a 27-year-old man inside the residence with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper body," OCSO officials said. Witnesses said the victim and another man had been arguing prior to the shooting. They said immediately after, the man fled the home."
