'Top Chef' to film next season in Charleston

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - 'Top Chef' is one of the most popular shows on Bravo, and it was just announced today that season 14 will soon begin filming in Charleston.

"Charleston is the perfect location to inject our next batch of chefs. We know Charleston and are excited by the food, people and possibility it brings with its rich cultural and historical background which has played an important role in shaping South Carolina's unique cuisine," Bravo Media's Executive Vice President of Current Media Shari Levine said.

'Top Chef' features chefs competing in various cooking challenges.

The chefs are then judged by a panel of professional chefs and others from the food industry with at least one contestant eliminated in each episode

The hosts of "Top Chef" include Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, and Richard Blais.

The Emmy Award winning Magical Elves produce the show, with Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz working as executive producers.

The series debuted in 2006 and has gained millions of viewers and a loyal fan base during it's ten years on air.
