CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A convicted sex offender from Charleston was arrested on a child pornography charge, according to the state Attorney General's Office.
Scott Ashley Cascone, 42, was arrested Friday on one count of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count involving failure to register as a convicted sex offender, state Attorney General's Office spokesman Mark Powell said.
Bond was denied on the sexual exploitation of a minor charge but bond was set at $200,000 for the failure to register charge, Powell said.
Electronic equipment was seized for forensic examination, he said.
The exploitation charge is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
The South Carolina Attorney General's Office will prosecute the case.
