Mobile vet center to help Lowcountry veterans

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Columbia Mobile Vet Center will be available at multiple locations throughout the Charleston area during the end of March.

The centers provide a range of services for veterans that include readjustment counseling and information resources and services to help Veterans make the transition between military and civilian life.

Upcoming dates, times and locations include:

  • Thursday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Voorhees College, Lenard E. Dawson Center, 5573 Voorhees Road, Denmark, SC for the Veterans Job Fair.
  • Tuesday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Charleston Vet Center, 3625 West Montague Avenue, North Charleston for the Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Event hosted by the Vet Center.  A ceremonial presentation of the 50th Commemorative Flag will be presented during the event to welcome home and honor Vietnam era Veterans.
  • March 31, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Allendale Center, SC Works, 398 Barnwell Highway, Allendale, SC for the Veterans Outreach and Information Event.

Veterans, servicemembers and their families are invited to attend to receive information on Veteran services.

Vet Center staff will be available to discuss readjustment and transitional needs and to connect Veterans to the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and community resources.
