Walterboro police searching for car break-in suspect

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Investigators are searching for a man accused of breaking into two vehicles in Walterboro.

The Walterboro Police Department released pictures of the suspect wanted for the break-ins.

The first happened on March 11 at the Walterboro City's parking lot where someone threw a brick through a car window and took a purse.

"When the victim contacted law enforcement to make a report, she also spoke with her credit card company and was advised that someone had just used her credit card at a local store," WPD officials said."The individual in the photo is the suspect that used the victim's card, and is possibly the same person that broke into the victim's vehicle."

The second break-in happened on March 12 at the Old House Café on Bells Highway where someone broke into a vehicle by throwing a brick through the window and taking a purse.

"The video surveillance camera at that location showed a black male fitting the same description as the person seen in this photo getting out of a grayish looking sedan sports type vehicle and looking into several vehicles windows," WPD officials said.

Anyone with any information pertaining to this incident is urged to contact the Walterboro Police Department at 843-549-1811.
