Emergency crews extinguish structure fire in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Emergency crews have extinguished a structure fire in North Charleston Thursday night. 

North Charleston and Ashley River fire departments responded to reports of a fire at a single story family home in the 3400 block of Plaza Lane just before 8:15 p.m.

"First in fire units reported smoke and flames coming from the home," NCFD officials said."All residents escaped unharmed."

According to NCFD officials, it took 15 minutes to control the fire at the home that housed a family of three.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
