'Insane Inflatable 5K' cancellation creates controversy

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The wet weather yesterday took the air out of one event.

The Insane Inflatable 5K was expected to draw in hundreds of visitors, from several states.

But some people planning on tackling the obstacles say they were turned away, and many were getting conflicting reasons as to why they were turned away.

"We can't control weather I get that, but it was a pure abbhortion on planning on their behalf. I say as such for negligence and planning I think we're due a rebate," said John Skinner, one runner who was turned away.

Insane Inflatable 5-K released a statement earlier saying local authorities shut down the event.

They say they had no control over people being turned away.

They also say that they were unable to offer refunds but are working on rescheduling the event.
