5 Around Town: The Lowcountry celebrates Easter

Thousands of people across the Lowcountry celebrated Easter on Sunday.

Among them is a James Island man who miraculously recovered from a terrible accident.

Harold Veronda is a retired Marine who suffered major burns after a container of kerosene he was holding exploded while he was doing yard work. Veronda testified about how his faith helped him overcome his injuries at Crossroads Community Church's Easter service.

"I couldn't even stand... I could not even open a ginger ale can," Veronda said about his injuries. " [Now] I'm playing baseball again, I'm doing everything. I'm as strong as I was. It could have only happened through faith."

A woman in Hanahan also had her Easter spirit out in full.

Delores Saunders decked her yard out with Easter bunnies and colored eggs for the holiday.

She also does displays for other holidays, including Halloween.
