LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Ladson teenager was arrested after investigators say he set fire to a home in Lexington County.
John Bradley Wiley, 17, has been charged with third-degree arson after authorities say he willfully and maliciously set a fire that caused extensive damage to a home in the 100 block of Scoggins Drive in Lexington.
"Through our investigation, we determined the suspect was igniting a flammable body spray in the carport," Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. "The investigation is still open and more charges are expected."
Koon said Wiley was arrested Saturday without incident at the scene of the fire.
The Lexington County Fire Service responded to the fire.
"An LCFS cause-and-origin investigator determined the fire caused $60,000 in damages after flames spread from the carport throughout the attic," Lexington County Sheriff's Office officials said.
