NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating after a Monday night shooting injured one person.
NCPD officials say shortly after 10 p.m. officers responded to the Barclay Street and Foxwood Drive intersection in reference to a victim being shot.
Officers found an 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to his right hand.
"The victim and witness alleges that an unknown black car came by and shot at them," NCPD officials said. According to an incident report, the witness said someone in a black, 2-door car pulled up to them and fired about four rounds, striking the victim in his pinkie finger.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Residents reported a portion of the street had been closed as authorities investigated.
Just a few days ago, North Charleston police held a community relations event in the neighborhood.
