KINGSTREE, SC (WCSC) - Williamsburg County deputies charged two people in connection with a reported kidnapping Monday afternoon.
Kiesha Demetra McFadden, 29 and Desmond Tymon Cooper, 27, both of Kingstree, are charged with one count of kidnapping, according to Williamsburg County Sheriff's Inv. Alex Edwards.
Deputies responded at approximately 2:09 p.m. Monday to a possible kidnapping or hostage situation that had been reported in a call to 911 made from a Salters area business, Edwards said.
Deputies made contact with suspects traveling on McFarlin Street in Kingstree, spotting two males and one female in a vehicle fitting the description given by the 911 caller, he said.
Investigators say a male victim was being held against his will. Based on information from the scene, the victim owed McFadden and Cooper $400 in cash from a drug transaction, deputies say.
Investigators say the victim was threatened numerous times with physical assault if he did not pay.
McFadden and Cooper were being held at the Williamsburg County Detention Center until a bond hearing can be scheduled before a magistrate judge.
The investigation is ongoing, Edwards said.
