BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a 73-year-old woman drowned after she fell off a jet ski on Lake Moultrie on Tuesday.
The Berkeley County Coroner's Office said Doris Nobles of Conway was a passenger on a jet ski on Lake Moultrie near Short Stay when she fell off at 7 p.m.
"The Jet Ski was traveling at idle speed and she was wearing a life jacket," Coroner Bill Salisbury said. "Mrs. Nobles ingested water and was transported to shore."
Officials say Berkeley County EMS transported her to a local emergency room where she was pronounced dead.
Coroner Salisbury has ruled her death as an accidental drowning.
The Berkeley County Coroner's Office and South Carolina Dept. of Natural Resources investigated the accident.
