ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (WYFF) -

The forced landing of a small plane with mechanical trouble was reported Monday afternoon just after 4 p.m.

Sources told WYFF News 4’s Mandy Gaither that the plane went down near Long Road and Omega Farms Road.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot reported having six people on board and said the plane was going down.  About an hour later, officials said there were only two people on board the Beechcraft Bonanza.

A fire department source told News 4 that once the plane was down, contact was made with the occupants and no one was injured.

The plane went nose-down into a field, and no injuries were reported on the ground and no structures were damaged.
