Investigators identify man wanted in Mt. Pleasant shooting

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Investigators have identified a man wanted for a shooting in Mount Pleasant. 

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is searching for Darryl Nicholas Evans, II in connection to a shooting on April 6.

"Darryl Evans is wanted for Attempted Murder and for Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime," MPPD said."The suspect is believed to have ties in downtown Charleston."

According to police, during the investigation it was revealed that this shooting was not random as the victim was the intended target.

Investigators describe Evans as a black male who is 6-foot tall and weighs 240lbs.

"He should be considered armed and dangerous," MPPD officials said."If you have any information as to the whereabouts of Darryl Evans, please contact 843-884-4176 or call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111."

According to police, a male subject was walking in the roadway within Remley's Point when he was shot near Holy Trinity AME church at 8:25 p.m. 

Authorities say after the victim was hit, he walked to the Riverwalk Apartment complex on Seaport Lane where he collapsed. 

"Several people in the area rushed to give him aid and to call 911 and give him EMS," said Chip Googe with the Mouth Pleasant Police Department.
