DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

Veterans interested in playing or learning golf as a therapeutic aid can register for a local chapter of the PGA’s military program.

PGA HOPE strives to help all veterans rehabilitate and assimilate back into society through free golf instruction taught by PGA professionals.

There are two 6-week programs available for veterans: Friday afternoons at the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation, or Monday afternoons at Daniel Island Golf Club.  Veterans can still register for the Daniel Island program, which begins on April 18.  Interested veterans can contact program administrator Rich O’Brien, at richobriengolf@gmail.com to register.

The Charleston chapter will also hold its first fundraising tournament at the Golf Club at Westcott Plantation on May 12.  Proceeds will be used to purchase adaptive devices for the golfers.  Interested players can contact perrygreen@pga.com.
