NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston's Latino community is talking following the news that a bar owner is facing charges for killing a man and burying a body behind the La Bomba bar on Rivers Avenue.
North Charleston police say Aldama-Ocampo was the bar manager.
"It's just shocking," Latino Association of Charleston president Diana Salazar said.
Salazar says the many in the Latino community are upset to hear what happened.
"The Latino community is very family oriented, very tight knit and when I heard it was in this tragic manner, yeah it was surprising and I'm sure we're all surprised."
Police say Aldama-Ocampo at first gave them someone else's identification as they were questioning him.
Then they say he confessed to killing a man who had been missing since April 9.
Investigators say the suspect also told them where to find the victim's body.
"It's a tragic moment," Salazar said.
Salazar says it's time for the Latino community to pull together.
"Let's stay together. Let's pray for both sides of families, the victim and the gentleman that did this. We need to stay together, stay united and do some prayers."
