NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say three pedestrians were struck in an auto-ped accident on Dorchester Road Thursday evening.
It happened in the 9600 block of Dorchester Rd. which is in the area of Wescott Boulevard.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, an SUV headed west was attempting to avoid stopped traffic and swerved right hitting the pedestrians on the side of the road.
Authorities say no one has been charged.
The pedestrians injuries have not been released.
Motorists reported Thursday night that authorities were still at the scene of the incident, but traffic was moving smoothly in the area.
Earlier in the day, the accident had shut down all westbound lanes, and eastbound traffic was also affected as crews worked the scene.
EMS, police and fire crews responded to the scene.
Witnesses had reported at least two vehicles were damaged at the scene.
