CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - High school students who have voted in a recent election can apply for a college scholarship.
The Vote in Honor of a Veteran program is awarding scholarships to three high school seniors who have voted in a local, state, or federal election over the past year. Applicants must also prove acceptance into an institute of higher education.
Applications are due by May 1 and can be accessed at http://vote.charlestoncounty.org/files/Vote-in-Honor-of-a-Vet-Scholarship-Application.pdf. Recipients will be announced on May 31. The total amount of all scholarships is $1500.
The Vote in Honor of a Veteran program is an initiative of the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration. It encourages the public to vote in honor of veterans who have sacrificed to protect our freedoms.
