HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - April is National Sports Eye Safety Month and in an effort to educate the community on the importance of eye safety Molina Healthcare of South Carolina is hosting a free health fair.
Through a partnership with Sweet Grass Pediatrics, National Vision and Hope Advancement, the health fair will feature free eye exams and other screenings along with a giveaway of 300 pairs of sports safety eye goggles sponsored by Molina Healthcare.
The event will also include:
- Basic dental exams by Sunny Side Dental
- Scoliosis screenings by Sweet Grass Pediatrics
- BMI checks, blood pressure screenings and glucose tests by Hope Advancement
- BBQ lunch
- Local community vendors providing resources and information on services (Hanahan Police and Fire Departments, Habitat for Humanity, SC Thrive, Hope Church, Berkeley County School District and many more)
Molina will have its smoothie bike onsite to show the direct correlation and importance of eating healthy and exercising.
The bike uses friction from pedaling to blend a fresh fruit smoothie.
You can also visit Molina's cat doctor mascot, Dr. Cleo, who will be in attendance to enjoy the event and take photos with attendees.
The event will take place this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 'Hope 4 Kids' parking lot at 1274 Yeamans Hall Road in Hanahan, SC.
The event is free and open to the public.
All giveaways and lunches will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
