BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A 13-year-old Cane Middle School student was arrested after authorities say he pointed a loaded gun at another student.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office said it happened on Friday when the school resource deputy at the school investigated a complaint from students that another student had pulled a firearm on them during an incident after school.
"The incident happened when some students appeared to be wanting to fight," BCSO officials.
According to a report, one of the students, a 13 year old boy, pulled a loaded gun out of his book bag and pointed it at another student.
"After the others present saw that the pistol was real, they fled on foot and alerted authorities," BCSO officials said."Thankfully, nobody was injured or harmed during the incident."
Authorities say the school resource deputy investigated the case and found that the boy had carried the pistol to school in his book bag.
A report states the pistol belonged to his stepfather.
The juvenile was charged with possession of a weapon on school property, pointing and presenting a firearm, unlawful carrying of a firearm and assault & battery of a high and aggravated nature.
