ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A judge set bond Wednesday for a Beaufort County man facing charges of damaging a former manufacturing plant in Orangeburg after DNA linked him to the crime, deputies say.
Rodney Gadson, 49, of Yemassee, is charged with grand larceny, third-degree burglary and malicious injury to personal property valued over $10,000, Orangeburg County Sheriff's spokesman Richard Walker said.
Orangeburg County Magistrate Peggy Doremus set bond at $50,000 for the three charges, Walker said.
Maintenance crews called the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office on Sept. 15 after discovering someone had forced entry into the former Utica Tools facility on Cameron Road, and warrants say damage to wiring, lighting and the facility in general amounted to an estimated $50,000 to repair.
Walker said Gadson is facing similar charges in Hampton.
