An American Airlines flight was diverted to Charleston International Airport Wednesday afternoon, airline officials have confirmed.
Flight 1006, which left Boston bound for Miami, landed at 3:40 p.m. in Charleston, according to American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein.
The plane took off bound for Miami at 5:29 p.m., Feinstein said.
Charleston airport authorities say a passenger was removed from the plane and was interviewed by the Charleston Aviation Authority Police.
Authorities say the FBI has taken the passenger to MUSC for a medical evaluation.
There are no details as yet on the nature of the disruption.
