ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (AP) -

Investigators in Orangeburg county believe they have captured the man responsible for multiple recent car break-ins.

Roger M. Salley, 19 of Cordova, was charged Thursday with breaking into motor vehicles after two handguns were stolen from a vehicle at a home on Partridge Road.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says investigators have worked around the clock to solve the cases. He calls this arrest the first of several to come. “There have been more than a dozen vehicles gone through in this area And we’re about to bring those responsible to justice.”

Bond for Salley was set at $3,000. According to a warrant, Salley rode a bicycle to the home where he entered the vehicle, taking the weapons.

Salley was also arrested in January when deputies suspected him of having a stolen vehicle. He was out on a $20,00 bond when he was arrested Thursday.
