Tree falls on cars in West Ashley following severe weather in the Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

A tree fell on several cars in West Ashley following severe weather in the Lowcountry. 

About four cars were damaged at the Palmetto Ford Dealership on Savannah Highway. 

One car appeared heavily damaged with its roof crushed. 

No injuries were reported in the area. 

In addition, emergency officials reported another tree down at the intersection of Maybank Highway and Liberia Road. 

The National Weather Service had issued severe thunderstorm warning and watches throughout Tuesday night. 

Residents reported pea-sized hail falling in Goose Creek, and in West Ashley residents reported heavy rain and wind. 

SCE&G has reported more than 2100 customers are without power in Charleston County, 503 in Dorchester County, and 103 in Berkeley County.
