Police: Strong arm robbery suspect in custody

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say the man wanted in connection with a robbery Saturday in downtown Charleston is in custody.

Maurice Simmons is wanted for a strong arm robbery in the 600 block of King Street, according to Charleston Police spokesman Charles Francis.

Simmons who was known to frequent the area of Athens Court, Poinsett Street, Romney Street and Grove Street, was taken into custody Sunday, according to jail records.

Simmons was being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
