ORANGEBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Two brothers accused in two school break-ins are facing more charges in connection to the incident.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office says 18-year-old Preston Bearden and 17-year-old Dakota Bearden face charges of malicious injury to real property.
Bond was set at $15,000 each.
The brothers have already been charged with two counts of second-degree burglary.
Those charges stem from the April 24 break-ins at Edisto High School and also the Branchville High School/Lockett Elementary School campus.
The two brothers were already under a $20,000 bond each on the burglary charges.
"Estimated costs to repair the damages at the two schools where office doors and equipment were broken comes to around $15,000 combined," OCSO officials said.
According to the sheriff's office, the brothers will now be taken back to Bamberg County where they face similar charges in the Ehrhardt jurisdiction.
OCSO investigators say a reward being offered by school officials will be divided between two people who contributed to the identification of the suspects.
Inv. Terry Logan is leading the ongoing investigation.
