NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County dispatchers say Rivers Avenue at Dunlap Street has been reopened following an accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle.
Emergency dispatch officials said the accident happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday. All eastbound lanes were closed as officials responded.
The motorcyclist was heading east on Rivers Avenue and the van was crossing Rivers to get on Dunlap Street. The van and the motorcycle struck each other and the van was flipped onto its left side.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The three people in the van were transported to Trident Hospital.
Dispatchers say the area was reopened just before midnight.
The motorcycle was severely damaged, according to a motorist who saw the scene.
