MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - A traveling exhibit honoring victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will make a stop in Mount Pleasant.
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum will host the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit Saturday and Sunday. New York City firefighters will be giving guided tours of the 1,100 square foot exhibit. The display features artifacts including steel beams from the World Trade Center, documentary videos, and recordings of first-responder radio transmissions.
The mobile exhibit will arrive Friday in a procession led by Lowcountry first-responder vehicles. The procession will leave North Charleston City Hall at 10:30 a.m., cross the Ravenel Bridge at approximately 10:45 a.m. and arrive at Patriots Point around 11 a.m. Once the exhibit is set up, everyone is invited to an opening ceremony at 3:30 p.m. The exhibit will then be open to all first responders. It opens to the general public on Saturday.
The exhibit is free and will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Parking is $5.
