NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The American Hospitality Education Association will be hosting Hotel Hospitality Training Sessions in the Lowcountry.
The START Program is designed by the American Hospitality Education Association. This program allows individuals to begin a rewarding career in the hospitality industry, by earning three national hotel certifications.
START stands for "Skills, Tasks, And Results Training."
The 6 week, 9 hour training program, provides hospitality-specific training. It is designed to provide opportunities for education certification in the hospitality industry.
According to a press release, hospitality is a high-growth career with much potential for qualified workers. Globally, hospitality and tourism continue to experience steady growth.
Programs organizers say START provides candidates an opportunity to:
- Develop the soft skills necessary to complete the job and interview process
- Understand the fundamentals of hospitality and hotel industry
- Develop sufficient understanding of best practices in housekeeping
- Develop skills for superior guest services an opportunity to tour some of Charleston's major hotels and speak with hiring managers
