Surveillance pictures released of suspect in Dollar General armed robbery

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities have released surveillance pictures of a suspect wanted for an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Georgetown County. 

The robbery happened on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. on 8003 North Fraser Street in the Choppee community. 

According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, a suspect entered the business, brandished a gun and demanded money from an employee. 

Authorities say the suspect then took off with money and went into the woods east of the store. 

No one was injured during the incident. 

Deputies describe the suspect as a white male, 5'9", with a heavy build with a beard, and 30 to 40 years old. The sheriff's office says the suspect was wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt with a grey hooded sweatshrit underneath, dark pants, white tennis shoes, and white glasses with beads. 

Anyone who has any information on the identity of the suspect or any information about the armed robbery is asked to contact the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5101.
