Now workers are closing eleven roads in the National Forest temporarily to protect the public and ensure their safety.

Currently scheduled for temporary or partial closures within the forest are:

  • Charity Church B Road (179b)
  • Bennett Branch (182)
  • Hoover (183)
  • Avenue (251b)
  • Irishtown (251f)

  • Tanner (251k)
  • Umphlett (252)
  • Summerhouse (258)
  • Dog Swamp (265)
  • Dog Swamp A (265a)

"We ask visitors to respect the closures and, more importantly, to recognize that they're in place to signal a health or safety hazard in the area," said Francis Marion District Ranger Rhea Whalen.
