BLUFFTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators with the Bluffton Police Department say they have arrested two teens for burglarizing the Wendy's Restaurant on Evan Way earlier this week.
According to authorities, an employee noticed a broken window at the restaurant just after 6 a.m. on May 25, the morning of the robbery. The manager then noticed money was missing from the safe and called the police.
Markus Piontek and Bretten Patterson, both 19 years old, were arrested after they confessed to the crime. Both are charged with Burglary Second Degree.
Investigators say Piontek told them he broke a window to the restaurant, climbed inside, opened the back door to let Patterson in, and then both took an undisclosed amount of cash from the safe.
Piontek and Patterson were taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
