CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A month-long book drive in honor of one of the victims of the Charleston church shooting kicked off Wednesday.

The book drive is being done to honor Cynthia Graham Hurd during the month of her birthday and the anniversary of the shooting.

Hurd, who worked in the Charleston County Public Library system for more than 30 years, was one of nine people shot and killed last year inside Mother Emanuel AME Church.

During the month of June, you can drop off any new or gently used children's book at any one of these six of the library branches:

The book drive in her honor will run for a month and encourages people to donate books for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade.
