CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Investigators say a number of suspected drug dealers are behind bars following a downtown Charleston investigation.
Charleston police officials say a three week investigation into narcotic activity in the Line Street area has led to five arrests and warrants being issued for three men.
According to CPD officials, the investigation began as the result of information provided by citizens to the police.
Those charged with the distribution of cocaine are: Corey Lamont Jackson, 30, of Boston Grill Road, Mt. Pleasant; Andrew Reynard Williams, 28, of King Street; Rakeem Shamaw Montgomery, 24, of Elsey Drive; Matthew Lamar Jenkins, 25, of Cedar Street; Adrian Dexder Wise, 52, of Nassau Street.
Warrants for the distribution of cocaine have been issued for: Matthew Lavard Campbell, 24, of Birdie Garrett Street; Jesse Jermaine Lawson, 28, of Rugheimer Avenue, North Charleston and Steven Lance Robinson, 37, of Brick Barn Lane, Goose Creek.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the three men should call Consolidated Dispatch at 843 743 7200 and ask for the on-duty CPD detective.
The investigation was conducted by the Charleston Police Department Special Investigations Unit, Team 1 Community Action Team and the Team 1 Power Shift Squad.
