NCPD 'Running Man Challenge' gets award-winning musician's attention

NORTH CHARLESTON (WCSC) - Not only has the North Charleston Police Department gained attention from the Lowcountry for their version of the "The Running Man Challenge," they've also been recognized by an iconic figure in hip hop.

Grammy-award-winning recording artist, songwriter and producer Jermaine Dupri posted the police department's "Running Man Challenge" video Tuesday on his Instagram page, with "Ok!!!" as a caption.

On Wednesday, the City of North Charleston tweeted their appreciation for Dupri's shout out.

Officers released the video Tuesday after being challenged by the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

They dance their way to North Charleston's River Front Park in the four-minute YouTube video, which has received over 32,000 views.

The police department challenged the Charleston and Mount Pleasant police departments to post "Running Man Challenge" videos as well.
