SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man they say lead deputies in a chase, crashed a car off Hwy 78 and fled the scene early Thursday morning.
Officials are working to get warrants for 35-year-old Timothy Klinner, who is wanted in Dorchester and Berkeley counties for failure to appear in court, and in Charleston County for motor vehicle theft.
They say the chase started around 1 a.m. after deputies went to the Sineath Mobile Home Park in Ladson to find a wanted suspect.
When deputies found Klinner, they say he took off on Hwy 78 and landed in a ditch in Summerville after his car was stopped by tire spikes. That's when authorities say he jumped out of the car and ran.
The stolen white Dodge Challenger was later pulled out of the ditch near Kelly's BBQ and Terminix.
If anyone with information on Klinner's whereabouts is asked to contact the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office dispatch center at 843-719-4505 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry 843-554-1111.
