CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Politicians and friends from across the country are sending thoughts and prayers to Republican U.S. House candidate Katie Arrington after she was seriously injured in a car crash in South Carolina. President Donald Trump posted on Twitter he was thinking about Arrington. U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford also sent prayers to Arrington over Twitter. Arrington defeated Sanford in the June 12 primary thanks to strong support from Trump.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina voters aren't done with primaries yet. On Tuesday, they will vote in runoffs to choose the likely replacement for U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy and whether the state attorney general runs for another term. Runoffs are happening for Republicans and Democrats in the 4th Congressional District. Democrats will choose their nominees in the 2nd and 7th Districts.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster is getting the first of two Trump administration visitors hoping to boost his chances at winning a first full term in office. Vice President Mike Pence is visiting Conway on Saturday for a campaign rally with McMaster.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a 64-year-old South Carolina restaurant owner has been killed by the boyfriend of a woman whom he let stay in his apartment. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says the couple left Lawrence Gaugenbaugh dead in his apartment for a few days before dumping his body near an abandoned home north of Columbia on Tuesday. Coroner Gary Watts says Gaugenbaugh was strangled.
