MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant police are working to build a relationship between officers and youth through two events this week.
The Blue Light Bowling event will provide children the opportunity to bowl with an officer for two hours.
The Blue Light Bowling Community Outreach is scheduled for Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. There is a check-in for the event that will begin at 9:30 a.m. This event will take place at PINZ Bowling Alley, located at 613 Johnnie Dodds Blvd in Mount Pleasant. The cost is free to all Mount Pleasant residents, but the event will especially cater to ages 5-14. Each bowler will receive a complimentary T-shirt, pizza, and a drink.
Casting with the Cops is an event where children will have the chance to fish with officers, and an opportunity to enjoy the natural resources and outdoor pastimes.
Casting with the Cops is scheduled for Friday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. This event will take place at The Pier at Memorial Water Front Park, located at 99 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. Casting with the Cops is free to all Mount Pleasant residents, and is for children ages 11-15.
Police say participants must register, but say the events are already full.
