NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police say one man is in custody after he wrecked his car following a chase Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators arrested 25-year-old Tradon Antwan Wright and charged him with failure to stop for blue lights and siren, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, PWID controlled substance within a 1/2 mile to a school and unlawful carry of a pistol.
NCPD officials say shortly before 1:30 p.m. officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Dorchester Waylyn neighborhood.
According to police, the driver failed to stop and led officers on a pursuit up Dorchester Road to Montague Ave then on to I-26 eventually exiting back on to Dorchester Road.
"The pursuit ended when the driver wrecked the vehicle on Ferrarra Dr and fled the vehicle with a gun in hand," authorities said.
A report states the driver was seen entering a residence on Woodlawn Avenue.
"After several call outs by officers, he exited the residence and was taken in to custody," police said.
NCPD officials said a search of the home that Wright entered revealed illegal narcotics.
