MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Mount Pleasant Police say the theft of a camper trailer from a storage facility was caught on surveillance cameras.

Police say the theft happened on April 25 at Mount Pleasant Mini Storage on Von Kolnitz Road. The victim's husband discovered trailer was gone when he went to pay the storage fee on May 5.

"I'd give anybody the shirt off my back if they ask for it, but don't steal my stuff," victim Cricket Richards said.

Richards says the 2004 Pioneer Fleetwood was a gift from her parents.

"Every year on the anniversary of my sibling's, my brother's death, they would take it out west again," she says. "Now that they're older and not comfortable pulling it, they gave it to me."

The surveillance video recorded on April 25 shows two vehicles coming out of the storage place. With the gate still open, the suspect in a U-Haul pickup truck drives through. About seven minutes later the driver comes back out, with Richards' camper trailer in tow.

"It's fully furnished, very sentimental to me and somebody stole it," Richards said. "This has been very emotional and I have done every legwork I know. I just want my property back."

After seeing the video of her trailer being taken, Richards has some advice.

"I just want to make it known, lock your stuff, pay attention to to what you're doing because people are just watching," she says.

And she believes her camper will eventually be found.

"Yes I do because I have faith in God and God knows where my RV is," she says.

Anyone with information on Richards' camper trailer should call Mount Pleasant Police at (843) 884-4176 or Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111.
