WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Officials with the Charleston Water System say advisories have been lifted for affected residents in West Ashley following a sewage overflow.
According to CWS officials, customers who were affected by the advisories have been notified.
Crews reported on Tuesday that tests showed results were within normal parameters following a sewage leak into a small creek near the Stono River last week.
Approximately 2,000 gallons of sewage leaked into the creek near the river, according to a tweet from CWS at the time of the incident.
The Department of Health and Environmental Control and nearby residents were notified, the agency said.
The leak was stopped Friday morning.
