Statewide summer blood drive being held in memory of crash victims

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Blood drives are being held across the state to honor those who have lost their lives on South Carolina roadways.

According to a news release from the American Red Cross, donors are invited to make appointments to give blood at one of five locations from June 27 to July 1.

The locations include one in West Ashley at 2000 Sam Rittenberg Blvd., and in Mount Pleasant at 920 Houston Northcutt Blvd.

The blood drive is the result of a collaboration between the American Red Cross and Families of Highway Fatalities.
