SCDOT releases statement on Long Point Road congestion

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation have released a statement on their plan for dealing with the traffic at Long Point Road and I-526.

The SCDOT's traffic plan for I-526 at Long Point Road:

"All Port traffic should use the right lane on Long Point Road. Non-Port traffic should use the left lane. While the temporary SCDOT plan is in effect, traffic using the center lane on the Long Point exit can turn in either direction. SCDOT is working with the Mount Pleasant Police Department to implement the plan put in place Friday morning to reduce congestion at Long Point Road and I-526."
