Fire officials: No roof collapse in downtown home

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston Fire Department says a possible roof leak led to the collapse of drywall inside a home in downtown Charleston.

Charleston Chief Fire Marshal Mike Julazadeh said there was no structural collapse.

A call came in to Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch about a possible roof collapse shortly before 9 a.m.

But shortly after that, dispatchers said they had received conflicting information and could not confirm a roof had actually collapsed.
