Deputies: Early-morning shooting left man wounded in leg

NESMITH, SC (WCSC) -

Williamsburg County deputies are investigating an early-morning shooting that left an Andrews man wounded.

Deputies and S.C. Highway Patrol troopers responded Tuesday at approximately 1:30 a.m. to a report of a shooting on Nesmith Road in Nesmith where they found the victim, a 33-year-old man, according to Williamsburg County Sheriff's Inv. Alex Edwards.

The victim was air-lifted to an area hospital and is said to be in stable condition, Edwards said.

Investigators think the shooting took place on the roadway.
