BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A Moncks Corner resident is facing 12 citations after animal control agents discovered the remains of more than 30 animals at her home Wednesday night.
Courtney Heatley was cited by Berkeley County Animal Control, according to Berkeley County spokesman Michael Mulé.
Agents also removed nine live animals from the home, including two dogs, four kittens and three reptiles.
Among the remains were those of a pony, deer, goat, dog, rabbit, duck, chicken and squirrel, Mulé said. The live animals were transported to the Doc Williams SPCA.
A tentative court date is set for Aug. 4, Mulé said.
The investigation is ongoing.
