MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Wednesday's storms not only brought a lot of rain and downed trees in the Lowcountry, but also an 8-foot alligator to a Moncks Corner neighborhood.
Residents at the Berkeley County Club say they were surprised to find the gator walking around on Ot Wallace Boulevard.
"Someone saw it cross their yard and it ended in our neighbors' yard," said Kathlene Essinger."So, they called and we came to check it out."
According to Essinger, DNR officials measured the gator at 8.4 feet long.
Essinger says neighbors spotted the gator around 9 p.m.
DNR crews have since removed the animal from the neighborhood.
