Red Cross launches swimming safety app

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

The American Red Cross is working to keep people safe at the beach and around swimming pools with a new app.

The app, called "Swim," has instructional videos to teach children how to swim. It was created as a companion to the agency's newly-updated Learn-to-Swim program and includes Preschool Aquatics.

The app is designed to help keep young swimmers motivated, while providing the latest in water safety guidance to help ensure families stay safe in, on and around the water.

It also includes water safety instructions for home pools, beaches and other bodies of water.
