TAKE A STAND: The CCU Flag

WCSC - TAKE A STAND: The CCU Flag

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Did South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley break the law when she flew the Coastal Carolina University flag over the state capital?

The Chanticleers were the Cinderella team that unexpectedly won the College Baseball National Championship.

The South Carolina Secessionist Party says Haley did violate a 2000 law that ordered the removal of the Confederate flag and states that only the U.S. and South Carolina state flag can fly over the dome.

The Secessionist Party says it may file a formal complaint.

That's a shame.

Whatever your political beliefs, why tarnish the much-deserved recognition of a state university and its hard-working students that won its first-ever national championship in any sport, something all of South Carolina should share in and be proud of?
